Hong Kong's elite swimmers showcased their talent at the Barcelona leg of the Mare Nostrum Swim Tour 2025, with Olympic medalist Siobhan Haughey leading the way with a silver medal in the women's 100m freestyle.

Haughey, fresh off her two gold medal victories at last week's Monaco leg, finished the final in 53.88 seconds on Wednesday. She was narrowly defeated by Dutch swimmer Marrit Steenbergen, who finished 0.32 seconds ahead. Li Sum-yiu, also representing Hong Kong, finished 13th overall after participating in the B-final.

On the men's side, Ian Ho Yentou of Hong Kong secured a silver medal in the 50m freestyle, clocking in at 22.35 seconds.

So far in this year's Mare Nostrum Swim Tour, Haughey has accumulated an impressive two gold medals and one silver. She previously excelled at the Monaco leg, winning gold in both the 100m and 200m freestyle events.

Haughey is scheduled to compete again in the women's 200m freestyle, where she will be aiming for her first gold medal at this Barcelona tour stop.
