Hong Kong residents can look forward to a vibrant summer celebration as the 36th Hong Kong Book Fair, the Sports and Leisure Expo, and the World of Snacks return to the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre (HKCEC) from July 15 to 21, 2026.
Organised by the Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC), this three-in-one mega-event brings together literature, sports, and gourmet experiences under one roof. Visitors can access all three exhibitions with a single adult ticket priced at just HK$30.
Highlights of the 36th Hong Kong Book Fair
This year’s Book Fair adopts the theme “Cultural Legacy • Joyful Journeys”, encouraging attendees to explore global heritage and modern innovation through books and travel. The fair will feature:
Over 770 exhibitors from nearly 30 countries and regions.
More than 600 cultural events across the city.
A major World of Art and Culture zone with interactive displays linking local Hong Kong stories to global literature.
Special programmes celebrating the HKTDC’s 60th anniversary, including collaborative artworks by local artists and students, and displays of historical publications.
Eight seminar series featuring renowned Chinese-language novelists, award-winning British poets, Southeast Asian authors (as part of the new ASEAN Literary Festival), and talks by local aerospace professionals and university professors on China’s recent space missions.
Sports and Leisure Expo
The concurrent Sports and Leisure Expo offers high-energy activities for all ages, including:
An exciting obstacle course challenge designed by the Hong Kong Playground Association.
Showcases of trending sports gear, such as pickleball apparel.
An indoor interactive animal experience for families to learn about ecology.
World of Snacks
Food lovers can indulge at the World of Snacks, which features over 1,300 snacks and treats from around the world — from traditional Hong Kong peanut cookies to innovative high-protein crisps and sustainable snacks made from soybean by-products.
To promote inclusivity, various corporate sponsors have launched reading campaigns and ticket sponsorship schemes to help grassroots families and students attend the event. Special social media giveaways offering “Super Passes” will also be available to mark the HKTDC’s 60th anniversary.
This annual summer mega-event has become one of Hong Kong’s most anticipated attractions, drawing large crowds of book lovers, sports enthusiasts, and foodies every year.
