The Hong Kong Police Force organised the "National Security Education Day 2026 and Police-Civilian Fun Day" on 12 April,2026 at Plum Park (提子公園) in Admiralty to raise public awareness of national security and strengthen national identity.

The event featured interactive exhibitions, games, and displays aimed at helping citizens better understand national security concepts and the Police Force’s work in safeguarding it. Highlights included a ship-shaped "Protect Hong Kong" national security education exhibition area focused on the White Paper titled "The Practice of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region in Maintaining National Security under 'One Country, Two Systems'".

Deputy Chief Secretary for Administration Warner Cheuk (卓永興) officiated the event and emphasised that national security concerns the well-being of all 1.4 billion Chinese people, including Hong Kong residents. He described it as a cornerstone for national stability and prosperity.

Chu highlighted the importance of the White Paper, stating that "maintaining national sovereignty, security, and development interests is the highest principle of the 'One Country, Two Systems' policy." He added that the government would continue promoting and educating the public about the document to enhance citizens’ awareness and sense of responsibility.

Police Commissioner Joe Chow (周一鳴) noted that, under the national security legal framework and enforcement mechanisms, Hong Kong has successfully transitioned "from chaos to governance" and is now moving "from stability to prosperity". He stressed that safeguarding national security is an ongoing mission with "only progress, no completion", and called on every citizen to play their part.

The event also introduced the new "NSmarties" AI interactive platform designed especially for children, using games to convey the message "National security is everyone’s responsibility, and I can do it." In addition, elite police units showcased specialised equipment from the Counter-Terrorism Special Duties Unit, Explosive Ordnance Disposal Bureau, and Police Dog Unit.

The activity forms part of the wider efforts to promote national security education across Hong Kong society.
