SCO Summit | Xi Jinping Holds Welcome Banquet, Believes It Will Gather the Strength of the Global South

Xi Jinping delivered a toast speech, stating that China believes holding this summit in Tianjin will certainly inject new vitality into the sustainable development of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO).

He said that since its establishment, the SCO has always upheld the "Shanghai Spirit," consolidated unity and mutual trust, deepened practical cooperation, participated in international and regional affairs, and become an important force in promoting the building of a new type of international relations and a community with a shared future for mankind.

Xi Jinping pointed out that currently, the world is undergoing accelerated changes unseen in a century, with unstable, uncertain, and unpredictable factors significantly increasing. The SCO's responsibility to maintain regional peace and stability and promote the development and prosperity of all countries has become even more significant.

He said that this summit shoulders the important mission of consolidating consensus among all parties, stimulating cooperation momentum, and outlining a blueprint for development. Tomorrow, I will hold a meeting of the Council of Heads of State with colleagues from member countries, and hold a "Shanghai Cooperation Organization Plus" meeting with more friendly countries and international organizations to discuss major plans for cooperation and development and promote the improvement of global governance.

Xi Jinping expressed that he believes, with the joint efforts of all parties, this summit will surely achieve complete success.
