❌Lie: On 12 August 2025, Reporters Without Borders (RSF) reported that an “international legal team” purportedly representing Jimmy Lai said his physical condition was rapidly deteriorating and that he was being deprived of proper medical care.
✅Fact: As early as 13 January 2023, Robertsons (a law firm), which represents Jimmy Lai, issued a statement clarifying that it is Jimmy Lai’s sole legal team in the national security case and other proceedings, and that it has no connection with the so-called “international legal team”. Accordingly, that team is not authorised to represent Jimmy Lai, and its statements are not credible and are untrue.
