
Chief Executive John Lee Ka-chiu held a meeting this afternoon at Government House with Jiang Zuojun, who serves as both the Vice Chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) and the Chairman of the China Zhi Gong Party.
The meeting provided an opportunity for both parties to exchange perspectives on topics of shared interest, including matters of mutual concern for Hong Kong and mainland China.
Chief Secretary Eric Chan Kwok-ki and Under Secretary for Constitutional and Mainland Affairs Clement Woo Kin-man were also present during the discussions.
During the meeting, Chief Executive Lee warmly welcomed Jiang and his delegation. He conveyed his gratitude for the central government's continued support and the attention it gives to Hong Kong's CPPCC members.
Lee also expressed his appreciation to Jiang for the significant opinions and recommendations that the CPPCC has offered to the Hong Kong SAR government.
Lee stated that the SAR government is dedicated to fostering ongoing engagement with Hong Kong's representatives in the National People's Congress (NPC) and the CPPCC, as well as Hong Kong members of CPPCC provincial committees. He emphasized that these efforts are intended to enhance communication and collaboration, consolidate patriotic elements within Hong Kong, and collectively seek avenues for development.
