Renowned Hong Kong actor Patrick Tse—famously nicknamed "Fourth Brother"—has died at the age of 89. The news was confirmed by his children, Nicholas and Jennifer Tse, via social media posts.

Exclusive details obtained by Sing Tao Headline reveal that Tse succumbed to pneumonia on July 16. Following his explicit wishes for a quiet farewell, his cremation took place on Monday morning at the Wo Hop Shek Crematorium in Fanling under his birth name, Tse Ka-yuk.

A Private Farewell

In his later years, the veteran actor used a wheelchair and had previously suffered a stroke. After contracting pneumonia, his health deteriorated prior to his passing on July 16. Upon hearing the news, Nicholas Tse—who was rehearsing for upcoming concerts in Mainland China—and Canada-based Jennifer Tse both flew back quietly to Hong Kong to say their final goodbyes.

To respect Tse’s desire for a low-key send-off, the family opted out of a traditional public wake at a funeral home. Instead, a brief private ceremony was conducted at the hospital mortuary before proceeding directly to the crematorium.

On Monday morning, Nicholas, Jennifer, and Tse’s former spouse, Deborah Lee, were spotted at Wo Hop Shek to pay their respects. The entire arrangement, from his passing to the cremation, was handled discreetly within just a few days.
