The Hong Kong Jockey Club (HKJC) has pledged HK$10 million through its Charities Trust to support the Youth Festival@HK, organized by the Home and Youth Affairs Bureau, for the third consecutive year. The festival, themed “Positive Thinking, Driving Innovation, and Inspiring Creativity,” aims to empower youth by fostering potential, knowledge, and positive thinking.

The opening ceremony, held on July 29, 2025, at Youth Square, was attended by Chief Secretary Eric Chan, Secretary Alice Mak, HKJC Director Lester Huang, and Youth Development Commission Deputy Chairman Kenneth Leung. Huang highlighted the HKJC’s commitment to youth development through initiatives like the “Strive and Rise Programme,” which supports grassroots students in building confidence and planning their future.

Since 2023, the HKJC has funded key festival events, including the Youth Development Summit and various community activities. This year, nearly 30 HKJC-funded projects will be nominated as partner activities. To celebrate its 140th anniversary, the HKJC allocated HK$1.4 billion to five youth initiatives, including the “HKJC Youth Career Planning Programme” and the transformation of Youth Square into interactive spaces with a video production studio.

The festival, a key part of the 2022 Youth Development Blueprint, has engaged over 400,000 youths across 400+ activities in its first two editions. This year’s events span arts, career planning, innovation, sports, and more, with activities commemorating the 80th anniversary of the Chinese People’s War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression to foster patriotism.

Chan thanked the HKJC for its support, including HK$150 million for Youth Square’s transformation, and urged youth to participate actively while calling for societal collaboration to advance the Youth Development Blueprint.
