This marks the second face-to-face meeting between the two leaders since their summit in Busan last October, and the first visit to China by a U.S. president in nine years.

Trump arrived in Beijing on Wednesday evening (May 13), making his first visit to China in nine years. He is scheduled to hold bilateral talks with President Xi on Thursday morning (May 14) and attend a state banquet in the evening. According to a White House schedule cited by Bloomberg reporters, Trump will also have an additional tea meeting with Xi on Friday.
The high-profile visit underscores ongoing efforts by both sides to manage bilateral relations amid complex global challenges.
