A 33-member student delegation from The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) achieved remarkable success at the 2026 Asian Games in Aichi-Nagoya, securing six medals across five student-athletes and setting a new Hong Kong record.

First-year medical student Mccarley Wong clinched gold alongside her partner in the girls' 29er skiff event, while fourth-year Physical Education major Toby Tse Yee-lam brought home two silver medals in squash (mixed doubles and women's team).

In karate, Tang Yu-hin and Li Chi-kong earned bronze in the men's team kata—marking Hong Kong’s historic first Asian Games medal in the category. Owen Leung Tin-ching added another bronze in the men's sabre team fencing event. Meanwhile, swimmer Adam Mak Sai-ting set a new Hong Kong record in the men's 200m breaststroke with a time of 2:08.77, finishing fourth overall.

The university was also represented by 27 alumni, four of whom collected a gold, a silver, and three bronzes across squash, fencing, and women's rugby sevens. Two other alumni established new Hong Kong records in athletics and archery.

CUHK Vice-Chancellor Professor Dennis Lo Yuk-ming commended the athletes, noting that their outstanding accomplishments showcase the strength of the university's holistic approach to education.

Additionally, Professor Patrick Yung, Associate Dean of CUHK's Faculty of Medicine, headed the Hong Kong delegation's largest-ever medical team. The group of over 80 healthcare professionals delivered 24/7 care to support approximately 580 athletes throughout the Games.
