Mainland Chinese visitors totaled 920,000, up 20%, making up 84% of arrivals, while non-Mainland visitors reached 180,000, up 31%. Hotel occupancy averaged 90%. Peak arrivals occurred on 2 May with 270,000 Mainland visitors, primarily via West Kowloon High-Speed Rail Station.
Cultural events, including a drone show over Victoria Harbour, Cheung Chau Bun Festival, and Buddha’s Birthday celebrations, drew crowds, boosting the festive atmosphere. Over 900 Mainland tour groups (33,000 visitors) arrived, a 60% rise from last year, with 70% staying overnight.
Border points and transport services ran smoothly, with the Transport Department ensuring adequate capacity. Major attractions like theme parks, Victoria Peak, and urban walking routes were popular. Retail and dining sectors reported stronger sales.
